Building Friendships While Transforming Lives
Not only does the practice of orthodontics enable me to create beautiful smiles and improve oral health, it also allows me to become part of each patient’s life. Although the treatment journey can be challenging at times, my team and I try to make it as pleasant and comfortable as possible.
When treatment is complete and patients see all that they have achieved, we celebrate with them!! They’ve attained an incredible smile they will hopefully enjoy — for life!
Being an orthodontist is a dream come true. I knew in 5th grade that I was going to be an orthodontist. My mom and my two orthodontists, Drs. Gaston and Price, influenced and encouraged me to follow that dream. After practicing for more than 40 years, I still love what I do.
Orthodontics allows me to build friendships with many people and their families. It blends art, science, and technical expertise to create beautiful, confident smiles and friendships. I appreciate the opportunity to transform a timid, self-conscious child into a strong, confident adult and to help my adult patients develop the beautiful smile they’ve long desired.

I’m proud of the reputation we’ve built in the Lafayette community, and a lot of that is due to my remarkable staff. It is an honor to be seeing and treating the grandchildren of some of our first patients today. That confidence and commitment from our patient family means everything to us and keeps us going!

More than 40 years after completing my formal orthodontic studies, I’m still actively learning about the specialty. Beyond the Office
Born and raised in Monroe, I have made Lafayette my home since 1977. My amazing wife, Rocks Ann, and I have two beautiful daughters: Lindsey Saterfiel, who is a general dentist right next door, and Emily, who is an estate manager in Los Angeles. We have three grandkids who live close by so we get to spend a lot of time with them. I will do anything and everything possible to guide, nourish and love them the best I can.
When I’m not working, you’ll probably find me at my camp on False River by New Roads. I really enjoy cruising on my party barge: jamming to my music and enjoying the great outdoors.
I’m also active in our community. I’ve been involved with Big Brothers/Big Sisters, the Games of Acadiana, and Donated Dental Services. These organizations provide a way for me to thank Lafayette for the blessings that have been bestowed on me, and to strengthen and make our community happier and healthier.
